First Batch of Hajj Pilgrims arrive in the Lungi airport, Sierra Leone.

Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh has today, 20th September, 2017 at the Lungi International Airport received the first batch of 275 Sierra Leonean Pilgrims returning from the Holy Land of Mecca.
After a successful completion of this year’s Muslim pilgrimage, the first batch of pilgrims, led by Alhaji Salieu Mansaray touched down at the Lungi International Airport aboard Turkish Airlines at around 2:45 p.m to a warm welcome by the Hon. Vice President.
Addressing the pilgrims aboard the airline, VP. Foh welcomed them home on behalf of His Excellency President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.
The Vice President thanked them for having offered prayers for the nation, praying further that their prayers would be acceptable to Allah.
VP. Foh informed that there are lots of speculation surrounding the Scholarships provided by Government for the pilgrims. He continued that these Scholarships were meant for Sierra Leoneans and expressed hope that it was Sierra Leoneans that benefitted from it.
Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh extolled the Hajj Committee Members for taking great care of their Sierra Leonean compatriots in the Holy Land of Mecca, and in also ensuring that they returned home safe and sound.
VP. Foh informed them, that they will soon be meeting with President Koroma at State House, where they will have the opportunity of thanking him for the Government’s sponsored Hajj Scholarship that enabled thousands of people to perform the pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Mecca over the years.
The pilgrims, together with their luggages are now being escorted to the National Stadium in Freetown by Government provided buses, led by the Vice President’s motorcade, where they will be united with their families.
