The grand Mufti of Zimbabwe-Mufti Ismail Menk was invited by the An-Noor foundation with support from the Muslim community in Liberia on a tour tittled “Light of Knowledge”
He arrived in Liberia on Friday the 30th March 2017 and had his first Radio interview on Hot FM,where he was interviewed about his personality and the expectations of Liberians during his tour.
His first lecture at AT stadium was witnessed by thousands of Liberians including Islamic scholars headed by the grand Mufti of Liberia, delegation from Sierra Leone, ministers,councilors and pastors etc.
In his 48 minutes lecture, he advised Liberians to love each other as humans heedless of colour, tribe and nationality.He encouraged everyone to be kind and generous to each other, avoid belittling others and show love.In his parting shorts, he stressed the need to seek knowledge, particularly Islamic knowledge which he said is beneficial to the Muslims and the society.
His second lecture was done in the country’s second Capital City Gbarnga in Bong county which is three hours away from the capital, Monrovia. He visited the Vice president of Liberia, Jewel Howard Taylor at her office and later addressed hundreds of Muslims on Muslim character and the harmony in the city’s town hall,which marked the end of his lectures in Liberia.
During his visit, the Mufti had several meetings with notable Islamic organizations in the region like FOISIL and Daqvah Charity Foundation in Sierra Leone as well as the An-Noor Foundation in liberia, he also met with Memorizers of the holy Quran in liberia.
