The Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh at the farewell ceremony organized in honor of his appointment said his appointment is a form of actualization of the relevance of Islamic scholars. He expressed gratitude to Almighty God and thanked H.E Rtd. Brig. Julius Maada Bio for having much trust in him to represent his country at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a country where he has spent ample time of his life. He quoted a verse in the holy Quran, explaining that keeping the trust of the people is a key to governance. He furthered that governmental appointments should be meritorious and that the square pegs should not be forced into round holes if we are to develop as a nation.
Ambassador Jalloh called on all Muslims to take responsibility in governance and desist from always expecting from their country, but to be committed to giving back to their country. He said he has been in Saudi as an Islamic scholar, but he is now going there as a representative of his country. Dr. Jalloh assures Sierra Leoneans and the Muslim community that his appointment will strengthen relationship between Sierra Leone and Saudi by the will of God.
The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh congratulated the new Ambassador on his appointment saying, leaders are appointed by God. He noted that he has known Dr. Jalloh since 1981 and that they have had a friendly relationship for long. He explained that the President have informed him that several people have advised him to appoint Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh as Ambassador to Saudi even before he became President.
According to the Vice President, Dr. Ibrahim Jalloh is a noble person whose appointment has been applauded by many within and outside of Sierra Leone.
