On Monday December 10 as usual the two man delegation Mr. Fahad Raddaadi and Muhammad Al’ameen from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) handed over 5000 cartons of Makkahn sacrificial lambs Muslim pilgrims offer every year in Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
After the official handing over at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay by Mr. Muhammad Al’ameen to the minister of Social Welfare Gender & Children’s Affairs Madam Baindu Dassama, his colleague Fahad Raddaadi said that the aim and objective of both the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Development Bank is that the meat must be distributed to the poor and the needy of Sierra Leone regardless of their religious and ethnic backgrounds.
The minister in her response on behalf of her government thanked the government of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Development Bank for the gift and promised that the lambs are going to be distributed to all beneficiaries as intended by the donors. The minister added that on behalf of her government under the new direction invites the guest to be coming to Sierra Leone as investors and tourists at all times.
The ceremony was witnessed by the deputy minister, Permanent Secretary and Mr. Yusuf Kamara of the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender & Children’s Affairs. Sheikh Alie Kallay and Sheikh Musa Mansaray representing the Sierra Leone Muslim Congress and the Muslim Community were also there.
