15th October 2019At the Fundraising Dinner organized at Bank Complex, Kingtom, DAQVAH Charity foundation launched it Multimillion Dollar National Islamic Park Project with the theme: National Islamic Park; Together we can make this dream a reality. This project is geared towards establishing the first national Islamic park in Sierra Leone, which will primarily serve as an investment for the foundation to help the needy and the poor, and to also serve a recreational and educational center for Muslims.Shk Faruq Adam Bah in his keynote address, noted that after the graphic presentation of the park has already been displayed, there is no need to elaborate on its significance and reward when it has been accomplished. He said that to undertake a project is divine and therefore encouraged everyone present, especially the stakeholders to support the project in all ways possible.The Deputy Minister Of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Alhaji Haji Kella said that the Organization has taken a laudable venture of establishing an Islamic park. He assured attendees of the government’s commitment to support the foundation in actualizing it dream.
Giving her statement as the Guest speaker of the event, Haja Hawa Turay, applauded the Organisation for undertaking such a project. She said that from the graphics that were displayed by the Inter-Link Design Team, the project will open doors to investors and tourists, particularly when the government is about to start the Lungi Bridge Project.
Speaking on the project, the CEO and founder of DAQVAH, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh said that the National Islamic Park would provide a recreation space and a resource center for Muslims, which will be strictly income generation. He also said that it will host the foundation’s Head Quarter, Resort, Mall and Restaurant, Women’s Center, Tafiz Center, Playground for children and adults etc.The foundation has already secured a 4.8 acres of land earlier this year from Chief, Bai Shebora Sheba Gbereh III, the Paramount Chief of Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom Lungi for the construction of the park.This year’s fundraising Dinner was graced by Islamic scholars and Imams, Business men, politicians, members of the foundation, other stakeholders and other Muslims from all walks of life.Among those in attendance was Qcell’s Operation Manager in Sierra Leone Mr Ibrahim Jah who assured the foundation of his company’s physical, moral, financial and technical support in making the Dream project a reality.
The dinner was filled with entertainment, motivation, humor, fun filled and was climax with fundraising, awards to different people for their support over the years and a wonderful performance by the CEO in his true life story song titled “Wan Day,” which left so many guests in tears.
