As DAQVAH Charity Foundation continues to implement it’s Ramadan Feeding Project through the Empty Bowl Challenge donations, the foundation through its partner organization, Forum for Muslim Women Empowerment and Development (FOMWED) has provided food and cash for widows and a Person With Disability in Bo District.

The Director of FOMWED, Madam Foday Jenneh informed the beneficiaries that the donation was made possible through their partner organization, DAQVAH. She said that the donation was to support Muslim widows who couldn’t afford providing meals for their families this Ramadan. She encouraged the beneficiaries to remember the donors of the Foundation in their prayers as the foundation intends to support more widows if only they have additional funds.

“When I woke up this morning, my children informed me that I only had one cup of rice in the bag. This got me devastated and I was wondering where and how could I have food to sustain my family for the day. I was in this state of frustrations, praying, when my sister Jenneh called and informed me that some donations have arrived for us the widows. I jubilated together with my children and I know my Allah do perform miracles,” one of the beneficiaries lamented.

Another beneficiaries said that she was happy to receive such gift as she is a mother of four who had lost her husband years ago and doesn’t receive support from family members and friends. She prayed that the foundation continue to help and support widows across the country.

A visual impaired student said he was happy to receive the donation as he was not expecting it. He said that he was listening to the Voice of Islam Radio when he heard about DAQVAH and immediately called the CEO, Mr. Jalloh, and explained his plight as someone who was finding it difficult to have food for fasting. He said the CEO promised to help him but he never knew when. “Today, I just received a call from Mrs. Jenneh that a gift has been sent for me. I feel so happy receiving this bag of rice and money, this will help me a lot in fasting and I pray for all the members and supporters of the organization. May Allah bless them,” he ended.

The distribution successful ended with prayers for donors from the beneficiaries.
